Why Every Body Needs a Foam Roller (Yes, You Too)

So… What Is Foam Rolling, Exactly?

Foam rolling is a form of self-myofascial release – which is a fancy way of saying you’re giving yourself a deep tissue massage. By applying pressure to tight spots (also known as “trigger points”), you help release tension, improve blood flow, and increase flexibility.

  • At your desk or in the evening to loosen up your back and hips

Personally, I like to roll out my glutes, quads, hamstrings, and upper back at least a few times per week. It doesn’t take long—just 5–10 minutes per session can make a noticeable difference.
